After spending two weeks researching different types of pets, Ms. Jessica's Kindergarten class was treated to an AMAZING experience from Dr. Fransen at Companion Animal Hospital.
Students were able to learn about veterinarians, the jobs they do and the different types of pets they care for. They were also able to learn about surgeries and x-rays and explore those spaces at the hospital.
They want to thank Dr. Fransen and the other staff at Companion for the fun day and sharing a couple very special pets with them!
The Mckstaff is so grateful to be a part of a community that supports reading and helps our students celebrate it well during I Love to Read month.
Classrooms have been filled all month with celebrity readers from throughout the community.
McKinley students have also been treated to weekly assemblies throughout February with special readers sharing a bit of Junie B. Jones.
Mrs. Schoeneck’s kindergarteners studied floating volcanic rock, marine fossils, DINOSAUR COPROLITE (aka fossilized dinosaur poop) with local artist and geologist Sara Ronnevik.
Friday was Grinch Day at McKinley School! Students had a couple special visitors today. Steven Vigesaa came to read and sing about the Grinch and the Grinch himself even made an appearance!
Students also participated in a variety of other Grinchy activities including a 100 chart Grinch, Grinchy sight words, labeling the Grinch with describing words, directed drawings and more!
