Cleveland School held a heartfelt Veterans Day program in which students learned more about the significance of this day and paid tribute to those who served in our Armed Forces. The VFW Color Guard presented the colors, performed a flag folding, and played Taps. The patriotic event featured students sharing their gratitude through songs, including a memorable medley of the anthems of each branch of the United States military.

We thank our veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice.

Wildlife Artist and 2024 Federal Duck Stamp contest winner, Chuck Black, spent a day with the 4th & 5th grade PSC students at the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center. He provided a lesson and gave them pointers to consider when planning their duck stamps as he demonstrated steps he uses when creating a design. Students will have the opportunity to create a stamp to be submitted in the Junior Duck Stamp contest.

Cleveland School observed Veterans Day by acknowledging contributions of veterans to our country. The colors were presented by the VFW Color Guard, and Mr. Dave Armstrong served as the honorary speaker.

Students sang several songs, including the National Anthem and an Armed Forces Medley.

The Science Museum of Minnesota came to Fergus Falls and provided an engaging assembly all about engineering. Cleveland 4th-grade students were active audience participants as they learned about various things engineers have worked to improve.

5th graders of the Prairie Science Class study archery using the National Archery in the Schools Program. There are many benefits to learning archery, but the main reason they learn archery in the PSC is that it provides them with another tool they can use for the rest of their lives to stay connected to nature.
