Kennedy Secondary School
Drama Dept. to present "Guys & Dolls"
Guys & Dolls is the legendary Broadway musical sure to charm and delight! Every gambler in New York knows Nathan Detroit (played by Ty Butler) and his infamous traveling craps game. Unfortunately, so do the local police. In an effort to earn the one thousand dollars needed to secure a location to play, he bets fellow gambler, Sky Masterson (Jacob Opatz), that Sky can’t persuade religious mission worker Sarah Brown (Kendal Nygaard) to run away with him to Havana. Simultaneously, Nathan is trying to avoid marrying his fiancée of 14 years, Miss Adelaide (Charlee Ugstad), who is the headline performer at the Hot Box Club.
Guys & Dolls will entertain your whole family with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, including famous songs like: “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ The Boat,” “Bushel and a Peck,” and “Luck Be a Lady.”
Join us on November 8th, 9th, 15th, or 16th at 7pm; or on November 17th at 2pm. Tickets for adults are $7 and students are just $4.
See you at Kennedy Auditorium for a show full of singing, dancing, high stakes, and high-rolling!
Design II students pay it forward
Design II students presented Kristin Bye (Ottertail Public Health Nurse) with tummy time blankets for their Family Home Visiting Programs. These bright, stimulating blankets are used as a teaching tool for families of new babies.
Nurses like Kristin visit the new families and take the time to teach them about the importance of tummy time for their little ones. Kristin stressed how important it is that babies get time to strengthen their core and their necks as they grow by spending time playing on their stomachs.
Fabric was donated to the class by Kristin Rowlan.
